The linear guide rail is the most important part of a CNC cutting machine. It is a tool used for linear reciprocating motion. This tool has a higher rated load than previous linear bearings and can also bear certain loads. Torque can also achieve high-precision linear motion under high load conditions, making the equipment run smoothly and accurately.
The linear guide rail and linear axis on a CNC cutting machine are one of the core components of the machine. Its function is to guide and support. To ensure high machining accuracy of CNC cutting machines, it is necessary to have high guiding accuracy and good motion stability for guide rails and straight lines.
The most common is a rolling element guide formed by a combination of flat guide rails, linear guide rails, and circular rollers and flat guide rails. Although there are various types of guides, most of their working characteristics are the same, providing a smooth moving surface for the carrier. Handle the forces generated by machine tool cutting to reduce the impact on passive machining parts.
Most guide rails move in a straight line, while a few move in an arc. The linear guide rail is combined with the ball through precise machining procedures. It has fast motion speed, low friction coefficient, high sensitivity, and meets the working requirements of moving components. How the rolling element contacts the surface of the track is one of the main factors that directly affect the system performance.
The linear guide rail can enable CNC cutting machines to achieve rapid feed speed. When the spindle speed is the same, rapid feed is a characteristic of linear guides. So how do we need to adjust the linear guide rail?
The specific operation is as follows:
1. Tighten the 1/2000mm standard steel wire at both ends of the guide rail, adjust the adjustment screws on the two guide plates on the guide rail, so that the distance between the two sides of the guide rail and the standard steel wire is a certain value, and use this distance as the standard distance.
2. Use a steel tape measure with a tensile force of 20N and a stretching accuracy of 1/2000mm. The distance between the main and auxiliary guide rails at both ends should be the span of the machine. Otherwise, the entire wire should be used to adjust the guide rail, while adjusting the wire to ensure that the standard distance does not change.
3. Measure the flatness of the main and auxiliary guide rails at both ends with an accuracy of 1/10000 millimeters, and adjust the height of the guide bolts to adjust the height, so that the flatness of the main and auxiliary guide rails at both ends is maintained within 0.5 millimeters.
4. Use a pressure plate to compress each main and auxiliary track at the end, as the basis for adjusting the horizontal and vertical horizontal states of the track, the flatness of the main and auxiliary tracks, and the spacing between the main and auxiliary tracks. The straightness of the steel rail is steel. The standard distance between the wire and the side of the guide rail is a reference.
5. Use adjustment pins and probe feet to adjust the distance between each end of the main guide rail and the standard steel wire rope one by one, and adjust it to the standard distance.
6. Use a bubble leveler to adjust the horizontal and vertical level of the guide rail. Gradually calibrate from one end of the guide rail to the other end, and then measure the joints of the two guide rails to ensure they are in a horizontal position.
7. After calibrating the main and guide rails, carefully tighten the connecting bolts between the rails and press the rails with a pressure plate. Carefully check whether the guide rail allows movement or deformation. The level and side of the guide rail joint should be kept smooth.
In daily maintenance, we also need to pay attention to the maintenance of the linear guide rail of the CNC cutting machine to ensure the good operation of the equipment. The specific methods are as follows:
1. Unplug the main power supply of the CNC cutting machine, press the switch of the CNC cutting machine several times to release static electricity.
2. Remove the guide rail of the CNC cutting machine. Carefully clean the grease and accumulated waste on the surface of the guide rail with a rag.
3. Use your fingers to apply a small amount of grease on the surface of the linear guide rail, and prioritize selecting grooves.
4. Drop a few drops of lubricating oil on the linear guide rail, and then move the linear guide rail back and forth multiple times to ensure that the overall lubricating oil of the guide rail is everywhere.
5. Install the linear guide rail. Then turn on the main power supply of the CNC cutting machine and press the switch of the CNC cutting machine.
